Silver nitrate

Silver nitrate is a silver salt with powerful germicidal activity. It is a colorless or white crystalline solid becoming black on exposure to light or organic material. Silver nitrate is a highly soluble, essentially toxic and easily restored to metal silver, which is used to produce silver compounds, silver mirrors, and inks.
